Varpu always dreamt of being a singer, but she used to hate her voice and thought she lacked talent. This was all turned around when she began working as an intuitive energy healer, leading her to falling in love with her voice and herself. Since then she and her songs have been inspired by everything she comes across in life, hoping to share her experiences and wonder of the world and awaken people to the magic of life and their own power.

Varpunen (aka Varpu) now writes folk songs centered on yearning, self-love, surrender and empowerment. Her soulful voice, heartfelt, relatable lyrics and stage presence touch the listener deeply. She loves to incorporate heavier elements in her music where possible. This stems from her Finnish roots and her short period as the lead singer of a Mexican-Hungarian-Finnish metal band.
